Connecting India: PM Modi's Day of Infrastructure, Inclusivity, and Farmer Welfare

Today, June 7, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's actions once again highlighted his government's dual focus: ambitious infrastructure development to foster national connectivity and a continued commitment to inclusive growth, exemplified by his outreach during the Eid al-Adha festivities and ongoing farmer welfare initiatives.
The spotlight of the day undoubtedly fell on Jammu & Kashmir, where PM Modi inaugurated the Chenab Rail Bridge, an engineering marvel that now stands as the world's highest railway arch bridge. This monumental project is far more than just a bridge; it's a testament to India's engineering prowess and a crucial link in the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project. Soaring 359 meters above the Chenab River, taller than the Eiffel Tower, this bridge promises to revolutionize connectivity for the Kashmir Valley, ensuring year-round rail access and significantly reducing travel time. Its inauguration is a powerful symbol of development and integration, aiming to bring greater prosperity and ease of living to the region.
Simultaneously, as the nation observes Eid al-Adha, Prime Minister Modi extended his heartfelt greetings to the Muslim community. His message, emphasizing harmony, peace, and unity, underscored the government's commitment to fostering a cohesive society. Such gestures on significant religious occasions are crucial in reinforcing the spirit of mutual respect and brotherhood that defines India's diverse fabric.
Beyond these prominent events, the government's steadfast dedication to farmer welfare continues to be a cornerstone of its policy. Recent reports highlight a substantial increase in the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for various Kharif crops for the 2025-26 marketing season, with many crops seeing over an 80% jump since 2013-14. Schemes like PM-KISAN, which has directly transferred over ₹3.7 lakh crore to more than 11 crore farmers, continue to provide vital income support with transparency. The expansion of the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) scheme, offering affordable credit to over 7.71 crore farmers, further empowers them financially. Initiatives in risk management, like the PM Fasal Bima Yojana, and significant investments in irrigation infrastructure through the PM Krishi Sinchayee Yojana, demonstrate a holistic approach to strengthening the agricultural sector and ensuring long-term prosperity for those who feed the nation.
Today's events, from the awe-inspiring Chenab Bridge to the warm Eid greetings and sustained focus on farmer upliftment, paint a clear picture of a government striving to build a more connected, harmonious, and prosperous India for all its citizens.
